United against the flu!

The flu vaccination campaign has begun in the canton of Vaud and throughout Switzerland.

In some people, influenza can develop into complications. The best protection against the disease and its complications is vaccination and the observance of precautionary measures. It prevents transmission of the disease to others.

The influenza vaccine is composed of influenza virus fragments from three or four different strains. As these viruses mutate, the vaccine is adapted each time for the autumn according to the latest WHO recommendations.

As a rule, seasonal flu vaccines are produced on hen’s eggs; they are inactivated, i.e. they cannot cause flu. All vaccines authorized in Switzerland are free of mercury and aluminum.
