This consultation deals with conditions related to the respiratory system (bronchi, lungs) and offers treatment of lung diseases and respiratory illnesses in collaboration with your GP.

Main pathologies treated:

General pulmonology: management of various respiratory pathologies

Tobaccology: Assessment and withdrawal

Sleep-disordered breathing: sleep apnea syndrome

Post COVID-19 consultation: persistent cough, shortness of breath or fatigue after Covid-19 infection

Second opinion consultation :

  • Chronic bronchitis: cough and sputum several months a year
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD: permanent narrowing of the small bronchi

Functional respiratory examinations

  • Spirometry
    Quick and easy test to measure the patient’s maximum inspired and expired air volume.
  • Walking test
    A simple test which measures the distance covered by the patient in a six-minute walk.
  • Oximetry
    Test to measure oxygen in the blood over several hours using a sensor attached to the finger.
  • Polygraphy
    Examination to record breathing during sleep.
  • Ergospirometry
    This test measures the patient’s exertion capacity on a bicycle, with a measurement of the air breathed. If necessary, your doctor will schedule this test at a suitable center.
  • Plethysmography
    This test measures the total volume of air in the lungs.

Preparing your consultation

Before coming to the pulmonary clinic to have these tests performed, please take a number of precautions:

  • Do not smoke for at least one hour before the exam.
  • Do not eat a large meal within two hours of the examination.
  • Do not drink alcohol in the four hours preceding the examination.
  • Do not exert yourself during the 30 minutes preceding the examination.
  • Avoid clothing that constricts the chest or stomach.
  • Follow the instructions you will receive regarding the medication to be discontinued for certain tests.
